JHYM’s Commitment Regarding Sharing Photographs
Photographs can be a great way to celebrate and extend our community. Posting some on our website lets others get a sense of who we are and what we do. We are happy to share those things. However, some things that happen are private to our community. Also, there are times when taking photographs can interfere with the activity of the moment. No photographs or videos should be on the Internet or in the JHYM photo album (paper) if anyone in them doesn’t want them to be shared.
Here are things we all agreed to do:
· Don’t take any photos at retreats unless you are working with the Staff Photographer.
· Never put any pictures or videos from JHYM programs on the Internet (Facebook, AOL, Gmail, Twitter, etc... ALL of the Internet!) without permission of every person in them. Don’t tag anyone without their permission.
· Sometimes we all make mistakes. If you see an image of yourself posted that you don’t like, (politely) ask the poster to remove it. If you are asked to remove something, do it graciously. We forgive each other when we make mistakes.
· Gretchen, as the JHYM coordinator, is responsible for all photographs in the JHYM photo album as well as on the JHYM website.
· This is a work in progress, and we will continue to discern consensus and clarity about it with honesty, deep listening, humor, and love for each other and our community.
